1985 280 GE great condition.OD reads 23k not recording.All other gauges work well.No rust except for paint bubble on door and dime sized spot at base of windshield.Excellent running,auto trans ,air.cond (limited cooling ability,never bad enough to get it fixed),power windows(temperamental) leather interior(small tear on drivers seat).fairly new michelins.doesn\'t use oil.have owned for 8 or so years with nothing but a few maintenence trips to the shop.Excellent daily driver with no surprises.$12,000.00

Up for sale is my 1983 MB 280GE LWB project. I have been working on this truck for some time but cannot figure out how to fix the fuel delivery problem. It is a 5 door right hand drive six cylinder. The previous owner was a G enthusiast in Tennessee who spent thousands of dollars on repairing this vehicle before acquiring a W463 and deciding to sell this. He had the engine rebuilt, replaced the fuel injectors, and purchased various other new parts. The front left fender needs replaced (available from mserpe) and the roof has a dent. It is a complete project minus a few exterior trim pieces and would make a great offroading G when finished. Due to the fuel problem it is in non running condition but the engine does turn over freely. There is minor rust on the wheel wells and the rear rocker panel. The rear cargo area is full of extra parts including an extra set of good tires and other miscellaneous parts.

Metallic grey 5-door wagon with 3ltr. six cylinder petrol engine. 5-speed manual transmission with 2 speed transfer case. Odometer 230,000 Km. This configuration is still powerful, yet not too thirsty.

This vehicle is in very clean original condition. Exterior 9/10 and interior 8/10. Practically no rust and factory paint is not faded. Seats, dash and wood trim all in great shape. Upholstery is a very nice grey cloth, dash and trim is black. Fully registered and licensed in British Columbia. Recently imported from Switzerland, and has full service history.

FOR SALE: 1984 W460 300GD Conversion

This one is 50 state legal that means it is legal in CALIFORNIA.  For some reason due to the conversion, it is a 1985 Mercedes-Benz Utility vehicle with diesel as fuel type according to CA DMV.   

I bought this from a fellow ClubGwagen and Benzworld member over 5 years ago.  Last year, I decided to get the engine rebuild at Topline Automobile in Burlingame, CA.  It\'s a hot rod 6 cylinder turbo conversion that has been my daily driver since I got it; so, it is trouble free. 

It does need some finishing touches like the proper shift gate and shifter that I did receive from Mike Serpe himself!  Needs a diesel tach.  The vehicle is 25 years old, and the paint has scratches here and there.  This is a truck no matter how you want to look at it.

I have been running B99 biodiesel since I got it. However since the rebuild that included the engine and pump, the folks at Topline wouldn\'t honor their 6 month warranty unless I used petro diesel.  So, there\'s mostly Chevron dino fuel in her now.  I was waiting for the warrany period to be over before I moved back to B99 and into vegatable oil with a heater kit.   

My wife and I are thinking of moving out state eventually.  It took some effort to bring theis behemoth back to California, and I would rather it stay in this state.  It can get 21-22 mpg if you drive it like a diesel truck, but since it\'s a 6 cylinder turbo, you can keep up with traffic if you wanted to at 18-19 mpg.

1983 280 GE SWB with split rear doors (2 rear doors)

Selling because it has no A/C, and I am moving from Northern North Dakota to South Texas; also I will no longer have a space to garage it. I have used it as daily driver for periods of its life, drives nicely on road, and has served me very well in snow.  I have not used for serious off-road driving, only dirt roads and in fields (flat or rolling farmland).

New BF Goodrich AT (including spare – total = 5 new tires) in 2009
