Lightforce Driving Lights

Living out in the country, I could appreciate how my friend had a set of driving lights hooked up to work with his high beams.  There are a lot of critters out here and it's REALLY dark at night.  I had heard good things about the Lightforce lights from Australia and decided to get a set.  They have a large set (240 Blitz) that I thought would compliment the larger MB star on the grill.  I ordered up a set from Adventure 4WD and bolted them on.  Aye Carumba!  These things are HUGE!

Clear

Snow

Fog

You can see the pattern on the filter to diffuse the light for fog.

I tried, but as I expected there is no good way to take a picture of the light output.  All I can do is give you my word that these things are SUPPER bright.  When I first installed them, it was snowing hard and I couldn't see a damn thing with the snow coming down and the blazing bright lights.  I got out the blue filters to see how they worked.

I have to admit, I thought the filters were kind of hokey and didn't expect them to really work as advertised.  Boy was I wrong.  The blue light just cut right through the snow and lit up the entire valley that I live in.  I just stood there ankle deep in show in awe.  The light output was phenomenal for a 100 watt light.  I drove around just loving the lights.  I don't know about you, but almost every auxiliary light I've owned was a bit of a letdown.  On my D-90 I ran 4 cheap 130 watt lamps on the roof and 100 watt Hella headlamps.  These lights were brighter than all 6 lights combined.

The next night I got to run with the clear covers and continued to be impressed by the light output.  I really like the way you can tailor the lights to meet your needs.  By screwing them in and out (like a Mag light) you can focus the beam.  I ran mine out really wide so I could see more of the sides of the roads.  I don't need to see 1/2 a mile down the road, but you CAN!  With them being really light weight, they didn't vibrate like other lights I've had.  I don't even have them tightened down because I wanted to adjust them and even then they don't move when put in place.

Overall, these lights have proven to be one of the most satisfying purchases I've ever made.  If you are in the market for aux lights, I would highly recommend taking a look at these.  You don't have to get the obscene size I got, they come in 3 different sizes.  At the time, Adventure 4WD was running a special of $25 of the normal price of $250 plus free shipping on The D-90 Source.  Heck of a deal for lights of this quality.
