Tuffy Center Console
One of the drawbacks to having a soft top is that nothing is terrible secure when you lock the doors. One of the things I really missed about my Defender 90 was my Tuffy center console. It's a heavy duty steel console that looks good and keeps things pretty safe. More than that, I really missed having somewhere to rest my arm when driving!! After swapping the engine I tried to keep all the levers as far forward as I could so I could fit a Tuffy box. I ended up going with a 10" wide model and after only one evening I can tell you this might just be my favorite mod. My arm rests on the nice thick cushion and puts my hand in the perfect long drive position hanging off the wheel at about 5 o'clock.
The thing is just cavernous too. It's hard to capture that quality, but I stuck my Dew in there for an idea. You could drop a couple cases of Dew in this thing... hummmm.
I moved my little CB/cup holder mount up front and it works great there. Drink is in the 360 swivel and close at hand and the CB is easy to read and manipulate. Overall I'm very pleased with the new layout.
